"Børsen" and the Storm Surge Column are two of the landmarks of Sønderho. They are situated off the east end of the Main Street just outside the dike. Here once was a harbour, which by now is difficult to imagine.
Børsen (the "Stock Exchange") formerly was a meeting place for the inhabitants of the village. Here they might sit and discuss the daily affairs.
On this column the rings signify the water levels of previous storm surges.
