The new graveyard, as it is still called, was consecrated back in 1923. Compared to other graveyards in the country, it is very characteristic. A monument in memory of the seamen who lost their lives at sea from the middle of the 19thcentury through the end of the Second World War was set up in this graveyard. The monument is of bronze and represents a wife from Soenderho with her two children staring towards "Hønen" to see their husband and father return from his long turn at sea. Seamen were often away for three or four years at a time. This graveyard is located to the east of Landevejen opposite the windmill.
